Aston Villa s Newcastlem jsou vysoko, stejně mají co zlepšovat
Newcastle nebodoval na všech čtyřech předchozích výletech do Villa Parku. Teď však není bez šance na přetržení této šňůry. Birminghamští totiž pod McLeishem stále hledají svou ofenzivní tvář. Stejně jako v Newcastlu jsou tedy sice neporažení, ale k ideálu má jejich herní projev hodně daleko.
To je potřeba opět zdůraznit hlavně u Strak. Ty se štěstí porazily už Sunderland a pak za kratší konec pomyslného provazu převážně tahaly i v duelu s Fulhamem. Přitom se nepoučili a na půdě QPR zejména v druhé půli vůbec nestíhaly. Měly velké štěstí, že ani Rangers neměli vepředu svůj den, jinak by už Magpies o svou neporazitelnost nejspíš přišly. To samé se týká i Villans. Na Goodison Parku je sedm minut před koncem zachraňoval spolehlivý Agbonlahor, proti Wolverhamptonu zas jako by McLeishovy ovečky ani nešly na vítězství.
Jedno se nicméně Ville nedá upřít - na domácí půdě v minulých šesti pokusech ani jednou nepadla, a jak už bylo řečeno, daří se jí tu i proti Newcastlu. Ten tu ale loni prohrál jenom 0:1, což souvisí s další statistikou, která už k birminghamskému celku tak přívětivá není - z mužstev, která se loni umístila v první desítce, jen Sunderland nastřílel na domácí půdě menší počet branek než právě Aston Villa. A McLeish zatím v tomto směru tým pozvedl jen třemi brankami proti nejslabšímu týmu ligy. Na druhou stranu však zpevnil defenzívu, která už dvakrát udržela čisté konto. Ta stračí dokonce třikrát, ne vždy ovšem výsostně svojí zásluhou.
Heskeyho problémy s podkolenní šlachou donutí Alexe McLeishe trochu potočit složením ofenzivní vozby. Místo v základu by se mělo uvolnit pro Marka Albrightona, přičemž rozjetý Agbonlahor se přemístí do dvojčlenného útoku k Bentovi.
Davide Santon se ještě v nejbližší době svého debutu na Ostrovech nedočká. V tréninku si totiž čerstvě poranil koleno. Také Alan Pardew má jinak soustavné potíže s hledáním spolehlivého střelce. Tím se zatím nejvíc ze všeho jeví být Leon Best - Ba, Ameobi ani Lovenkrands zatím nepřesvědčili.
